1. Yerevan

2. Geghard

Geghard is a medieval monastery and is about an hour away from Yerevan. It is located in Armenia’s Katuk province. It was once home of the spear that pierced Jesus Christ’s side during the crucifixion.

3. Garni

Garni is a village and there you can make your own Lavash (Armenian food). The pagan temple of Garni is the most notable site there, which dates back to the 1st century AD and was likely built by King.  It is the only colonnaded Greco-roman building in the country and one of the best-known pre-Christian symbols of Armenia and is an example of Greek architecture.

4. Etchmiadzin

Etchmiadzin is the fourth largest city in the country and is just 11miles west of Yerevan.  It is considered to be Armenia’s spiritual capital and is a holy city. It is home for some oldest cities and cathedrals on earth, including five that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.  There is a restaurant in the town that prepares fish by using sunlight.

5. Lake Sevan

Lake Sevan is the country’s largest water body and is a major source is of food for Armenians. It is over 6200feet above sea level. It is also home to Sevanavak, a medieval monastery that was established back in 874 by Prince Mariam.

6. Dilijan

Dilijan town is in North Armenia which is known for its traditional craft workshops and spa resorts. It is surrounded by forest and is also known for its traditional architecture.

7. Apaga Resort

It is an incredible accommodation that consists of authentic cottages with 22 rooms that are surrounded by mountains, rivers, and forests. This is good for extreme activities like zip-lining and off-roading.

8. Gyumri

It is Armenia’s second-largest city and is known as the arts and crafts center of Armenia because of its school’s theaters and performing artists. It is located in the northwestern part of the country.it is also home to several churches, monasteries, and museums.

9. Areni

The village of Areni is home to a gorgeous 14th-century church and the ruins of the 13th-century palace. Areni is best known for its wine production. The oldest winery in the world was discovered in a nearby cave complex. The village hosts the world-famous Areni wine festival which began in 2008.

10. Tatev Monastery

tatev monastery is a beautiful, 9^th century Armenian Apostolic monastery that once hosted the university of Tatev, You can also ride the world’s longest reversible cable car there.
